RINGS, HI BAR, P BARS, TUMBLING, VAULTING AND TRAMPOLINE SKILLS ARE ALL TAUGHT IN THIS FITNESS PROGRAM FOR BOYS.

Eight members of the Genesis gymnastics boys team are headed to Reno, Nevada the first week in April to represent the Antelope Valley in the regional Championships. At the state championships held March 15th, 16th and 17th the boys level 8 team nearly swept the meet. Nick Finks, who has been competing in gymnastics for 10 years will be part of the Region 1 All Star team after taking 1st place in the all around with a 66.70. Nick is also a gold medalist on the vault with 13.05, gold on the rings with 11.80, gold on high bar with 10.50 and bronze medal finishes on parallel bars and floor! Tied for second place in the all around was Ryan Collier with a 65.00. Ryan is state gold medal winner on pommel horse with 10.90 and parellel bars with 10.95. He took a silver medal on vault with 10.95 and bronze on high bar with 10.20. George Billet was 4th in the all around with a 64.80 taking a silver medal on pommel with 10.40, silver on rings with 11.30, silver on high bar with 10.35 and bronze medal on vault with 11.50. In level 7 Jacon Lintemoot took 5th in the state with a score of 55.25.  Jacob took a gold medal on floor at regionals 2 years ago in level 5 and looks forward to returning! He was 2nd on the floor at state with a 9.55, 4th on high bar with 8.8, and 5th on parallel bars with a 9.1. In the level 6 division Daniel Browning who brought home two medals last year from regionals will be returning as a level 6 after finishing 4th in the all around at the state meet. Daniel was 2nd on floor with 11.40, 2nd on parallel bars with 10.20, and 3rd on rings with 10.25. Teammate Juan Mendez took 6th in the all around with 56.85 and took gold on the vault with 10.50! Level 5 gymnasts Elijah Rodriguez was sick with the flu all week but still finished in the top 20 qualifying him for regionals. Teammate Jared Hummel also missed a week of practice but also finished high enough at the state meet for a trip to Reno. Coach Daniel Fuentes was thrilled with the eight performances and could not have asked for any more from his boys team this year!!!
